Cooked Food:
Natural food, which has been heated to very high temperatrues, undergo chemical changes that strip the food of it's vital nutrition. What you end up with is "empty" calories. Okay, this is where it gets good. So why do cooked foods tantalize our taste buds? This is largely because of the "stimulant" effect that many of the chemicals and preservitives have on the body. In fact, your body does not actually "understand" a lot of what it has taken in because it's unnatural, and therefore see's it as foreign bodies!!
There has been some awesome research done in the 1930's that prove when someone eats cooked food without having eaten some raw food first, the body sends white blood cells(our toxin fighters) to the digestive system to kill the "invader"! Think about that last statement for a second.. And while yes, we can glean some nutrition from this fractured, denatured "food", every time we cook our food, buy something pre package, cooked in a can, boxed, or bagged, we lose up to 70% of the vitamin's, minerals, all of the enzyems and oxygen.
